Al Riffa Park to open by year-end, boosting green spaces in Ras Al Khaimah
Ras Al Khaimah is set to enhance its green and family-friendly spaces with the upcoming opening of Al Riffa Park by the end of this year. The 720,374-square-foot park will dedicate over 70% of its land to landscaped greenery, reflecting the emirate’s commitment to sustainable urban development.
Construction began in May 2025 to allow trees and plants to take root before the official launch. The Dh15–16 million project features children’s playgrounds, skate parks, jogging tracks, multi-purpose sports courts, outdoor gyms, and dedicated facilities for people of determination. Safety and accessibility are priorities, with CCTV systems, mirrored restroom and prayer hall layouts, and smaller fenced play zones for children.
The park also incorporates eco-friendly measures, including sustainable irrigation using treated water from the nearby Al Rifaa treatment plant, conserving approximately 150 cubic meters of water daily. Native trees like ghaf, neem, and sidr provide natural shading, while seating, retail outlets, food truck areas, and a central landscaped hill enhance visitor experience.
Mohammed Ibrahim, CEO of Arkan Engineering Consultancy, said, “Al Riffa Park has been designed to be open to everyone, free of charge, and safe for families, combining recreation, fitness, and sustainability.” Residents, including Lauren from Al Riffa, welcomed the project as a space to unite the community across generations.
With Al Riffa Park and other parks under development, Ras Al Khaimah is advancing its vision of sustainable, accessible, and community-oriented public spaces.
