Westley Burke and Eoin OGardy lift the cup at the fifth qualifier of 17th Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge
Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge (XCGC) 2015 held its fifth qualifying round on Emirates Golf Clubs Majlis Course, Dubai on Wednesday, May 13.
Westley Burke and Eoin OGardy of team Space Maker emerged as winners with score of 44. Runners-up were Ashok Kumar and Salem Bin Dasmal from team Kumar/Dasmal carding 42 (after countback), pushing team MIDCOM; Anand Kapoor and Akash Kumar into third place, also with a 42.
Joining the top 3 teams at the grand final, to be played in Ras Al Khaimah later this year, are fourth place Edoardo Galeppini and Michael Nielsen from team Cigisped/Rickmers (41 after countback), and, team Oncourse Golfs Steve Rutter and Peter Zachrisson (41).
On-course competitions included Aramexs Hole 7 Nearest the Pin, claimed by Anand Kapoor, Eccos Hole 15 Nearest the Pin, won by Tom Shevlin, Sport360s Hole 3 Longest drive, won by Paul Barnard, PWSs Longest Drive hole 8 won by Chris Hewett, Crystal Gallerys Longest Drive hole 12 won by Ornella Parigi.
An exciting addition for the participants of Wednesdays qualifier was the launch of live scoring system, Golf GameBook (www.golfgamebook.com) into the tournament, and which will be used for all future member, social and corporate tournaments at both Emirates Golf Club and Dubai Creek Golf Club.
Through each of the UAE-based qualifiers the top 5 placed teams earn a berth to play for the ultimate title in the Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge Grand Final.
