University of Dubai holds its first MBA networking event, emphasises commitment to quality education
The Master of Business Administration programme at University of Dubai held its first MBA networking event at Conrad Hotel in Dubai with the participation of MBA students, faculty members, professionals and business representatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Eesa M. Bastaki, President of University of Dubai, reiterated his commitment to quality in education and said: Our mission is to provide the best education and serve the UAE through diverse programmes to promote Smart Education. He added that University of Dubai continues with its plan to promote educational programmes in Smart Tourism and Smart Cities centres.
Dr. Ananth Rao, Director of MBA and PhD programmes at University of Dubai, listed the universitys achievements in providing more professional opportunities to its MBA students. Dr. Rao stated that international accreditations and certificates at the university have opened the doors for UD students to wider employment opportunities to advance their possibilities in leadership and management.
Ms. Geetu Ahuja, Head of GCC Middle East of CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountant), explained the benefits of CIMA to the MBA students. She said following the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with University of Dubai, all MBA students will be automatically certified by CIMA as passed finalists upon their graduation, if they take the opportunity to sit for a maximum of 3 CIMA exams along with their MBA studies. She added that CIMA ensures that our students are first choice for employers who are recruiting professionally trained business leaders.
Mr. Anthony Degazon, Regional Manager of ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management), said that University of Dubai gained the ILM certificates because it succeeded in providing high quality academic programmes that match international standards. He added that certification Levels 5 and 7 offered automatically to University of Dubai students improve their prospects in gaining top management positions and become effective and influential people in their work environment.
