TRA & RIPE NCC Successfully Conclude RIPE 75 Meeting

The Rseaux IP Europens Network Coordination Centre (RIPE NCC) and the UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) effectively concluded the RIPE 75 meeting - which ran from October 22 to October 26, 2017 at the Conrad Hotel in Dubai. The event witnessed the participation of leading local, regional and international gamers in telecoms and information and communications technology (ICT), including Google, Microsoft, Amazon.com, Apple, Facebook, LinkedIn, Nokia, Deutsche Telekom, Netflix, Orange, Omantel, OGERO, VIVA, du, Etisalat and others.

The RIPE 75 meeting brought together industry leaders, experts, governments, worldwide players in ICT, and several of the world's leading service and content providers providers. Hosted by the UAE's TRA, the event was held as part of the authority's support for the country's ruthless initiatives to produce an incorporated infrastructure aimed at placing the country as a global leader in the Electronic/Smart Transformation Index by 2021.

RIPE NCC has signed 2 arrangements on the sidelines of the event, including a Memorandum of Understanding with the TRA and with the American University of Beirut aimed at boosting Internet-based research study and activities and improving the operational efficiency of networks in the Middle East. The arrangements would certainly promote tasks such as seminars, meetings, training programs, and awareness projects concerning IPv6 and various other technologies.
