UAE circular fashion platforms Taggy and Reloved have announced their merger, bringing together their technology, market expertise and established communities to create a stronger platform for buying and selling fashion in the UAE.
Following the merger, the combined business will operate under the Taggy brand. Taggy will bring its technology and platform capabilities, while Reloved founder Annie Stacey will join the Taggy leadership team as Chief Operating Officer, contributing her knowledge of the UAE resale market and the community developed through Reloved.
The two companies began discussions in mid-June, with the merger process commencing in early July. Both businesses shared a similar vision of making circular fashion more accessible and convenient for consumers in the UAE, making the partnership a natural progression.
Combining Technology and Market Expertise
Mark Leeming, Founder of Taggy, said the merger brings together complementary strengths that can help the business expand while improving the experience for customers and sellers.
He said Taggy and Reloved had been pursuing the same objective from different perspectives, adding that Stacey’s understanding of the UAE market, combined with Taggy’s technology and infrastructure, would provide a foundation for faster growth.
Founded in 2024 by Annie Stacey, Reloved was established to address the need for a more convenient way to buy and sell fashion in the UAE. The platform developed a community of approximately 3,000 customers and sellers and gained insights into consumer behaviour and expectations within the local resale market.
Reloved Community to Transition to Taggy
Stacey said the merger represents an evolution of the vision behind Reloved rather than an end to the business.
Existing Reloved customers will have the opportunity to transition to Taggy, moving their accounts and listed products to the platform. The move will give the Reloved community access to Taggy’s technology and platform capabilities while retaining the customer-focused approach developed by Reloved.
Taggy currently has more than 8,100 registered users and more than 9,000 items have been listed on the platform to date. The addition of Reloved’s community is expected to further expand Taggy’s reach in the UAE circular fashion sector.
Focus on a More Convenient Resale Experience
The combined company plans to focus on making fashion resale easier for both sellers and shoppers.
Taggy aims to simplify the selling process while providing shoppers with a more engaging way to discover and purchase fashion. The company plans to use technology, customer service and local market knowledge to develop a circular fashion experience that moves beyond the traditional second-hand marketplace model.
The merger also marks the beginning of Taggy’s next phase of growth, with the company planning continued investment in technology, customer experience and services tailored to the UAE market.
As consumer interest in more sustainable approaches to fashion continues to develop, the combined platform aims to strengthen the role of circular fashion within the UAE’s evolving retail landscape.
