Students Address Global Challenges Through GEMS Education and Sonys Film-making Competition

In an effort to create awareness and attend to the world's most pushing issues, GEMS Education partnered with Sony Middle East and Africa, and CreatorUp - a YouTube Certified leader in global digital media education - to organize a film making competition available to all GEMS Education institutions in the UAE.

The competitors's theme is for students to convey their Innovation Story in a style of their choice - funny, docudrama or a fictional cosmos. The movies' concentrate on exactly how their group, school or community will address global challenges and pressing concerns in the society.

Throughout the competitors, CreatorUp gave a complete day workshop and on-going support to the shortlisted groups in narration and production methods. The workshop happened in GEMS Al Barsha National School with 100 students - 20 groups across 12 GEMS Education colleges - and instructors finding out and creating their behind the behind-the-scenes footage.

Sony had provided all teams with their handycams to produce their movies. They will certainly provide the winning team with AED 10,000 as cash prize and all trainees of the leading 3 teams will certainly get AED1,000 vouchers each to Sony products.
