Ajman University launches executive education platform after high-level leadership symposium

Ajman University has launched a new Executive Education platform following a high-level executive education symposium held in partnership with Al Tamimi & Company, bringing together more than 200 CEOs, board members, and senior decision-makers from banking, investment, multinational enterprises, and government-linked institutions.

The closed-door forum focused on how executive capability must evolve amid accelerating economic transformation, rising uncertainty, and increasingly complex decision environments. Discussions centered on adaptability, decision-making under pressure, and the need for continuous leadership development.

The symposium featured an address by H.E. Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, who outlined the changing expectations placed on leaders as the UAE advances its future economy agenda. He emphasized adaptability, forward thinking, and decisiveness as critical leadership qualities in a landscape shaped by rapid change, technological disruption, and global interconnectedness. He added that economic competitiveness increasingly depends on leaders who can make informed decisions confidently and translate national ambitions into practical institutional outcomes.

Held under the theme “Forward Expertise for a Forward Economy,” the event aligned with the We the UAE 2031 vision, which places leadership readiness and institutional agility at the center of sustainable economic growth.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Dipak C. Jain, former Dean of INSEAD and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, who examined the global evolution of executive education. He described modern executive education as rooted in lifelong learning and continuous adaptation rather than one-time credentialing. He highlighted emerging trends including modular learning, decision-centric programme design, and training frameworks that prepare leaders for unfamiliar and fast-changing environments.

The event also marked the official launch of Ajman University Executive Education, a platform designed to engage senior leaders through practice-driven learning grounded in real organisational challenges and global insight. The initiative will offer targeted executive coaching, peer-level engagement, and bespoke programmes aligned with institutional priorities and national transformation agendas, aimed at CEOs, board members, and C-suite executives.

Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University, said executive learning at senior levels must be continuous and directly connected to real-world decisions. He noted that the new platform is built on strengthening judgment, adaptability, and decision quality, supported by global expertise and local relevance.

A fireside discussion moderated by Essam Al Tamimi, Chairman of Al Tamimi & Company, featured Majid Jafar, CEO of Crescent Petroleum, and explored how leadership expectations are shifting in practice, particularly around judgment and decision-making under pressure. Speakers stressed that effective leadership increasingly depends on disciplined thinking, strategic clarity, and the ability to recalibrate in volatile conditions.

The symposium concluded with discussions on the evolving role of universities as active partners to industry and government in building leadership capability. Ajman University said the new platform reinforces its role as a convener of strategic dialogue and a contributor to the future of executive learning in the UAE and the wider region.
