Royal Kids Nursery has officially opened its doors in Aljada, becoming the community’s first premium British curriculum nursery. The launch is delivered in strategic partnership with Reigate Grammar School, a British institution with nearly 350 years of educational heritage.

Located at Tiraz 5 within Aljada, the nursery introduces an authentic British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) programme to one of Sharjah’s fastest-growing master-planned communities.

With six schools across three continents, Reigate Grammar School’s UK group includes four preparatory and nursery schools, positioning it as a leader in Early Years education. This partnership enables Royal Kids Nursery to implement proven UK educational practices and maintain world-class academic standards in the UAE.

The official opening ceremony was attended by representatives from the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), including senior officials from the Licensing and Buildings Departments, underscoring the nursery’s commitment to regulatory compliance and educational excellence.

Leadership perspectives

Melonie Karriem, Founding Director of Royal Kids Nursery, emphasized the intentional design behind the campus, stating that every space and experience has been carefully created to positively impact each child’s development.

Esref Temel, Managing Director of Royal Kids Nursery and Bright Capital Investment, described the collaboration as a significant milestone in advancing early years education in Sharjah. He confirmed plans to expand with a second campus in Masaar later this year, reinforcing long-term growth within Arada communities.

Shaun Fenton OBE, Executive Headmaster of the Reigate Grammar School Group, highlighted the importance of nurturing children during their formative years, noting that the nursery provides a supportive environment where children feel valued, confident and excited to learn.

Royal Kids Nursery operates full-day programmes from 8:00am to 6:00pm, offering early drop-off, flexible scheduling and enrichment activities tailored to working families.

The nursery follows the British EYFS framework, enhanced through a STEAM-inspired pedagogy that integrates elements of Reggio Emilia and Montessori methodologies. This blended approach promotes exploration, inquiry-based learning and purposeful play, supported by thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor learning environments.
