SLC Launches ‘Your Summer Legislation Boost 2024’ Programme Focused on AI and Future Technology
The General Secretariat of the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai (SLC) is set to launch the third edition of the ‘Your Summer Legislation Boost 2024’ Programme under the theme ‘Navigating Future Technology: AI and Legislation.’ Running from July 18 to August 22, 2024, the Programme will feature a series of interactive panel discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions, and legal workshops centered on the intersection of future technology and legislation.
This year’s Programme aims to enhance legislative work in alignment with Dubai’s future technological directions. Key components include field visits and panel discussions to gather insights for improving legislative frameworks, particularly in the realm of artificial intelligence (AI). The Programme will also host legal workshops on critical topics such as the role of AI in healthcare, advancements in legislative translation processes, potential legal challenges associated with AI, and protective measures against the misuse of deepfake technology.
H.E. Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar Al Muhairi, SLC Secretary General, commented:
"The third edition of the ‘Your Summer Legislation Boost’ Programme aims to illuminate the current and future state of technology from a legislative perspective. Our Programme will thoroughly explore these dynamics through a series of enriching workshops, sessions, and visits."
Dr. Najat Al Amri, Assistant Legal Advisor and Programme Supervisor, emphasized:

This year’s focus on emerging technologies and their legislative impact is particularly timely. Dr. Al Amri also highlighted the importance of proactive legislative strategies in developing a more flexible and sustainable legislative system capable of keeping pace with global technological advancements.
