Sharjah to take part in leading Russian travel and tourism exhibition for 17th consecutive year

Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) has revealed its participation in the Moscow International Travel & Tourism Exhibition (MITT) for the 17th successive year. SCTDA's involvement in the leading exhibit in the Russian capital from March 23 to 26 follows its current success at ITB Berlin, one of the leading travel and tourist exhibitions in Europe.

The Sharjah delegation to MITT, led by SCTDA, includes significant travel and hospitality entities from the emirate, including Sheraton, Hotel Holiday International, Copthorne, Radisson Blu, Al Khalidiah, SATA, Sharjah International Airport, Air Arabia, and Cozmo Travel.

On the occasion, His Excellency Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of SCTDA, stated: "As a significant international occasion that combine leaders of the travel, tourist and hospitality markets from worldwide, MITT provides considerable opportunities for Sharjah to draw in more travelers from the Russian market.".
HE Al Midfa stated: "Sharjah is an ideal traveler destination for families with its mild weather condition, sandy beaches and stunning deserts. The emirate arranges a number of global recreational and sports activities for travelers, and offers them an impressive tourist experience with its well-developed facilities, outstanding hotel facilities, and world-class museums and cultural centres.".

Describing the Russian market as a major factor to the tourist sector, HE Al Midfa stated the Sharjah delegation will utilise the MITT platform to go over shared cooperation with Russian travel and tourism companies to increase the tourist circulation to Sharjah. SCTDA will also promote Sharjah as an attractive tourist destination and highlight the most recent tourist projects and hotel centers in the emirate, HE Al Midfa stated.

Organised as a yearly event, MITT is one of the top five travel exhibitions in the world and is highly valued by the worldwide tourism community. MITT, which was founded in 1994, will feature this year over 1,800 companies from more than 192 locations. The event will be participated in by national and local tourist boards, trip operators, hotel facilities, airlines as well as trip organisations.
