School of Life offers creative workshops at Dubai Public Libraries
Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has launched a series of innovative workshops under its School of Life project, catering to community members of all ages. The program, held at Al Safa Art & Design Library, Al Twar Public Library, and Al Rashidiya Public Library, aims to develop competencies and refine skills in various areas such as storytelling, photography, agriculture, sign language, and more. These initiatives align with Dubai Culture's ongoing efforts to foster a sustainable creative environment within Dubai Public Libraries.
At Al Safa Art & Design Library, the 'Let's Talk About the Photo' workshop will be conducted by photographer Ola Al Louz. Participants will delve into different types of photographs, explore various angles for capturing images, and learn editing techniques using specialized software. Additionally, both Al Rashidiya Public Library and Al Safa Art & Design Library will host 'The Little Farmer' workshops, designed to educate children about the significance of farming, essential tools, and best practices for cultivation.
In collaboration with the Dubai Club for People of Determination, Al Twar Public Library will offer insights into the rich world of sign language. Participants will delve into the complexities of sign language and understand its vital role as a means of communication with People of Determination.
As part of the Library Talks initiative, Umm Suqeim Public Library will feature author Sabah Dibi, who will discuss her story 'The Pencil Who Found Himself,' published by Dubai Foundation for Women and Children. Dibi will highlight a set of values, emphasizing the importance of self-confidence and addressing bullying in its various forms.
These workshops and discussions serve as a platform for individuals of all backgrounds to enhance their skills, broaden their knowledge, and engage with diverse topics within a creative and inclusive environment.
