Repton School Dubai Wins Award for Sustainability and Best Newcomer at the Land Rover 4x4 in Schools Technology Challenge
Repton School Dubai got involved recently world Finals for the Land Vagabond 4x4 Schools Technology Challenge for the first time with a 5 member group carrying out creditably to win honors for Sustainability and the most effective Newcomer. Repton School Dubai was the only school in the UAE standing for the country at the World Finals, which occurred in Abu Dhabi, with the school coming 10 th in the world at the end of the challenge.
The challenge included employee collaborating to design and build a radio controlled four-wheel drive (4x4) vehicle to establish specs. The vehicle should efficiently negotiate a specially developed examination track emulating real life and do as a complete scale 4x4 vehicle would do in an off-road situation.
The team from Repton Dubai, attracted from Year 9-IB2, had been working hard over the last three months to check their wheel drive model while servicing their private duties as an overall Team manager, Resource manager, Video developer, Graphics designer, and Manufacturing engineer. The group were ranked on their design profiles, a spoken discussion, the team uniform and identity, the engineering elements of the car along with the speed around the track.

Repton's engagement in the 2017-18 edition of the Land Rover 4x4 in Schools Technology Challenge was a terrific possibility for our students to be influenced to become the future generation of designers and display the quality of our trainees that are completing on the world phase.
It gives them insights into practical applications of STEM subjects while also assisting them create key skills such as communication, presenting and group job. At Repton, we are committed to providing our trainees access to several such initiatives in order to help them fulfil their fundamental potential while increasing student understanding and interaction. We are proud to stand for the UAE in the World Finals."
In an initiative to urge the young participants, GT Auto Centre, which is a prominent car service company in Dubai, offered helpful sessions on 'steering and suspension systems' and funded a Jaguar Land Rover SUV car which was utilized to create built-in tracks with obstacles for the obstacle.
