With a promising view for their careers Twenty-Three Omanis Graduate from Nestl Center of Excellence
A total of 111 students from Saudi Arabia and Oman have so far graduated from the three-year old Nestl Center of Excellence, with twenty-three alumni from Oman joining the ranks after completing their Sales Academy training.
Founded in 2012 in Saudi Arabia with a mission to help bridge the skills gap between academic curriculum and corporate expectations, the Nestl Center of Excellence spread to Oman in 2014 where it collaborates with Sultan Qabus University from which 90% of trainees are derived.
Nestl believes in Creating Shared Value, which means that for a company to be successful, it should not only create value for shareholders but also for society at large, said Yves Manghardt, Nestl Middle East Chairman and CEO. Our Center of Excellence helps meet one of the commitments recently published in our local Nestl to Society report: to Foster Further Opportunities of Starting and Developing Careers for the Youth in the Middle East. We aim to further expand the Nestl Center of Excellence to increase both graduate numbers and percentage hired at Nestl.
Nationalization represents an integral element of our strategy and we are committed to recruiting and hiring local talent, added Alireza Sarabchi, General Business Manager of Nestl in Oman. At Nestl Oman, 65% of employees in all of our departments and across our five distribution centers in Nizwa, Salalah, Sur, Sohar and the capital Muscat, are Omani nationals. The Nestl Center of Excellence reflects positively on both society and our own operations which benefit from a vaster pool of qualified potential recruits.
The Nestl Center of Excellence offers Business Executive Certificates for Women, a Nutrition Development Program for Women, and a Sales Training Academy. It helps Nestl recruit relevant candidates and supports them to move towards fruitful and successful careers. Since its inception, 40% of graduates were offered employment at Nestl in newly created positions.
