Professional Programmeset to be stocked with excellence for Abu Dhabi Book Fairs 25th anniversary edition

Abu Dhabi, UAE; March 30, 2015: The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) 2015 will be bigger and better than ever, with the annual Professional Programmethis year featuring the very best speakers from across the world as the event reaches its landmark 25th anniversary.
The Professional Programme, part of ADIBF that will take place at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from 7th to 13th May, will feature a range of panel discussions by experienced regional and international professionals, training for both publishers and teachers, lectures by world class speakers, and product demonstrations.

More than 100 sessions and over 80 speakers will take place with some of the best experts and most inspiring speakers around, both in the region and globally.

We are delighted to welcome so many eminent experts to the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair this year, especially as it is the 25th anniversary of the event, which is a testament to the quality of the event where we remember the Late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, said H.E. Juma Al Qubaisi, ADIBF Director and Executive Director of the National Library a division of TCA Abu Dhabi, To add to the vibrant and stimulating atmosphere of the professional programme we will conduct live recordings of the interactions with our social media followers making the Book Fair as interactive online as it is at the event.

We anticipate these keynote sessions will be incredibly popular so will also summarise them as graphics making it possible to share the information in case the sessions are oversubscribed. The Programme will feature lectures and discussions covering multiple themes, but broadly covering four main areas; best practices in publishing, the future of publishing, the MENA market, as well as Education& Games.

The Future of Publishing is covered by world class experts speaking for the first time in the Middle East, such as Richard Nash (a Pulitzer Prize finalist and considered to be one of the five most inspiring people in digital publishing), Peter Armstrong (author of the manifesto for lean publishing) and KareHallden speaking on topics like Subscription based services, disruptive business models, lean publishing and the business of literature and culture. Best practices are covered by, among others, lectures on topics like Distribution , Arabic Fonts, ISBN, Markua and discussion panels on ePublishing, Editing and Literary Agents.

The publishing in MENA area will, among many other topics, include an introduction into the MENA market, The MENA Market for Teen Literature and a lecture on Selling E-books in MENA. ADIBF is also introducing, for the first time, sessions on sharing experiences where experienced regional publishers will sit down with a host and share experiences from their long careers, much like a This is your life-TV show.
The Education arm of the Professional Programme will also be well stocked with global and regional talent, with David Langridgefrom Microsoft (David is responsible for developing Microsofts global strategy on education) discussing How technology can transform Teaching and Learning. Global expert on adaptive education technology Dr UlrikJuul Christensen will speak on the science of learning and how adaptive technology can transform education; whileSanteriKoivisto will discuss how to train teachers on using Minecraft and MinecraftEdu in education.

There will also be numerous discussions on promoting reading and literacy, teaching English as a second language and challenging advanced learners. In addition to these fascinating discussions, there will be a plethora of other topics available, including how to create bestsellers and how to survive on small markets.
