Nine Students from The English College Receive ‘Highest in the World’ Awards from Pearson Edexcel

Nine students from The English College, part of the International Schools Partnership (iSP), have been recognised with the prestigious 'Highest in the World' awards in the 2024 Pearson Edexcel examinations. The awards honour exceptional academic performance across a range of qualifications, including International GCSE, GCSE, AS-level, and A-level.

The English College led the way with 22 High Achiever Awards and 12 Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards. Among these accolades, nine students were named "Highest in the World," showcasing the school’s academic excellence on both a regional and global scale. Additionally, one student earned "Top in the Region" and two others received "Top in the Country" honours.

Notable achievers include Asmi, who earned the highest global marks in Pearson Edexcel GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level English Literature, and Manuj, who secured the highest marks worldwide in both International Advanced Subsidiary Chemistry and Mathematics. Other students receiving the "Highest in the World" title include Daniela (GCE Advanced Level Drama and Theatre), Georgia (International Advanced Subsidiary Mathematics), Laila (International Advanced Subsidiary Biology), Malak (GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level Business), Mia (GCSE English Literature), and Rita (GCSE English Language).

Manuj, who was awarded two "Top of the World" honours, shared his gratitude, saying, "I am truly honoured to receive these prestigious awards. Achieving the highest marks in the world would not have been possible without the exceptional support from my school and teachers. I am deeply grateful for their guidance and encouragement. This recognition motivates me to continue pushing myself to excel in my academic journey."

Other schools within iSP also celebrated their students' successes. Star International School, Mirdif, and Reach British School in Abu Dhabi saw their students secure multiple High Achiever Awards, with three students from Star International School, Mirdif, and four students from Reach British School recognised for their outstanding results.

Rory Galvin, Regional Director of Learning at iSP, expressed pride in the achievements, saying, "These awards reflect the dedication and hard work of our students and educators. We are particularly proud of The English College, which ranked third in the UAE for total awards, and Star International School, Mirdif, whose students took these exams for the first time. At iSP, we are committed to nurturing every student’s potential, and these recognitions affirm our mission to provide world-class education."

In Qatar, Park House English School, another iSP institution, also celebrated remarkable results, with students earning the highest marks in subjects including IGCSE French, AS Economics, IGCSE P.E., IGCSE Art & Design, and AS Business.
