Nashwa Al Ruwaini Receives an Honorary Doctorate from Oxford

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 03 March 2019: Dr. Nashwa Al-Ruwaini yesterday was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration and Management Studies from the Oxford College for Research and PhD Studies, one of the oldest educational institutions in Europe and the world. This was in recognition of her outstanding achievements in the field of media and in recognition of her success as an entrepreneur.

The award ceremony was attended by VIP officials as well as the media, her family and friends and was held at Al Majlis Tent on Al Hudayriat Island. It began with a speech from the Dean of International Research and Studies for Oxford College for PhD Studies, Member of the High Committee and Chairman of European and Business Fellowship Foundation, Prof. Dr. Al Mutassem Bellah Alshaikh Issa who welcomed the audience and then introduced Dr. Ruwaini, stressing that she was able to reach prominence and success in the areas of media and business, and had several successive achievements that have contributed greatly to the advancement of these sectors, and now currently heads one of the region's most successful group of companies, Pyramedia Group.

Prof. Dr. Alshaikh Issa also said that Dr. Nashwa Al Ruwaini has managed through years of continuous work to change the stereotype of women in the Middle East and that despite the emergence of women leaders in the media, Dr. Nashwa Al Ruwaini will always be at the forefront of the industry as she has pioneered several media projects and had resounding success as a TV Presenter, Producer and CEO of Pyramedia Media Consulting and Production Company. He added that the Oxford College for Research and PhD Studies considers Dr. Nashwa Al Ruwaini as a role model who has a long list of achievements, and it is for that reason that the College is honored to award her its Honorary Doctorate.

"It is a great honor that the Oxford College for Research and PhD Studies has granted me this honorary degree, and I am extremely pleased to accept it and I dedicate it to the UAE and to the Mother of the Emirates, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation who has established a supportive platform for women in the UAE to achieve success locally, regionally and internationally." said Dr. Al Ruwaini, CEO and Board Member of Pyramedia Group.

Dr. Al Ruwaini added "I am happy to meet today with an elite of VIP personalities, academics and researchers and I am delighted that years of hard work are being appreciated and that I have been able to convey a message to a world-class institution such as Oxford that the business climate in the UAE encourages success and that we can easily compete both regionally and internationally.
