The Family Development Foundation (FDF) has announced details of the H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Conference on Community Intelligence, scheduled for November 17 and 18, 2026, in Abu Dhabi.
The conference will form part of the eighth edition of the H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Excellence and Community Intelligence Programme. Its objectives, key themes and programme of panel discussions and workshops were outlined during a press conference held at Emirates Palace.
The event aims to establish community intelligence as a fundamental pillar of an aware and cohesive society, enabling individuals and families to adapt to change, seize opportunities and address emerging challenges.
Conference to Promote a Cohesive and Participatory Society
The press conference was attended by H.E. Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Director General of FDF; H.E. Wafaa Mohammed Al Ali, Director of the Family Development Department at FDF; experts, Foundation employees and media representatives.
Speaking at the event, Al Rumaithi said the conference, themed “A Cohesive Society Where Everyone Participates,” reflects the humanitarian and developmental vision of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of FDF and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood (SCMC), known as the “Mother of the Nation”.
She highlighted Her Highness’s longstanding commitment to human development, family empowerment and community cohesion, emphasising the importance of investing in people, nurturing creativity and creating opportunities for everyone to contribute to national development.
National Platform for Community Development and Innovation
Organised by FDF, the conference is part of the programme chaired by H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs and Chairman of the Programme’s Higher Committee.
Al Rumaithi described the conference as a national platform that will bring together expertise and fresh perspectives to encourage collective community action. Discussions will focus on raising awareness of community intelligence, showcasing successful experiences and addressing issues concerning family empowerment, entrepreneurship, innovation and social responsibility.
She added that the initiative reflects the UAE leadership’s vision, led by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which places people at the centre of development and recognises the family as the foundation of a stable and resilient society.
The programme also continues to promote creativity, recognise role models and encourage initiatives that offer innovative solutions to community needs. It seeks to establish a culture of excellence as a driver of positive change and social progress.
FDF Seeks Practical Outcomes and Stronger Partnerships
Al Rumaithi emphasised that the conference's ambitions extend beyond its panel discussions and workshop recommendations. FDF aims to translate the knowledge and ideas generated during the event into practical initiatives and solutions through stronger partnerships and coordinated efforts.
These initiatives are intended to strengthen the capacity of individuals and families to address challenges, make use of opportunities and contribute to a more cohesive and prosperous society.
She also highlighted the media's role as an important partner in raising public awareness, sharing knowledge and showcasing inspiring community experiences. FDF aims to maintain an interactive platform for dialogue with media representatives, enabling constructive engagement and a clearer understanding of the conference's objectives and themes.
Five Panel Discussions to Explore Key Community Priorities
Ms. Ousha Al Suwaidi, Project Manager of the H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Excellence and Community Intelligence Programme, highlighted the importance of developing an integrated framework to identify promising community capabilities and direct them towards priority issues.
She noted that the next phase requires a move beyond isolated individual initiatives towards coordinated approaches based on a deeper understanding of community needs. Applying knowledge and expertise to innovative solutions, she said, would help individuals and institutions anticipate challenges and respond effectively to rapid changes.

The event will feature five panel discussions covering key areas, including:
