MoHESR and RAKDOK Partner to Enhance Student Enrolment in Higher Education
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has announced a strategic partnership with the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Knowledge (RAKDOK) to streamline the transition of students from secondary education to higher education institutions (HEIs) in the Emirate.
As part of this initiative, RAKDOK will oversee private schools in Ras Al Khaimah, ensuring they adhere to MoHESR’s unified registration and admission system starting from grade 11. The Department will also provide academic counselling, helping students understand available programmes, admission requirements, and application deadlines. In addition, preparatory workshops will be organised to enhance students' readiness for university applications.
Strengthening Education Partnerships
His Excellency Ahmad Ibrahim Alsaadi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Higher Education Operations Sector and Director of the International Education Support and Scholarships Department at MoHESR, emphasised that the collaboration reflects the Ministry’s vision of fostering strong partnerships with local educational institutions to enhance student success.
"We are committed to offering students a comprehensive and efficient educational journey that aligns with their capabilities and aspirations. This initiative supports national priorities by empowering students to achieve their academic goals, preparing them for the job market, and ultimately enabling them to contribute to the national economy and a cohesive, sustainable society," H.E. Alsaadi stated.
Career Guidance and National Service Coordination
His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Al Naqbi, Board Member of RAKDOK, reiterated the Department’s commitment to ensuring that students in Ras Al Khaimah’s private schools receive the necessary support to make informed higher education and career decisions.
"This partnership will expand students’ opportunities to navigate the evolving job market. RAKDOK remains dedicated to implementing effective career guidance systems across private schools in the Emirate," H.E. Al Naqbi stated.
Additionally, RAKDOK will coordinate with the National Service and Reserve Authority to ensure that male students fulfill their national service registration requirements and receive their results promptly, facilitating a seamless admission process to HEIs.
Commitment to Student Success
MoHESR will continue collaborating with higher education institutions to provide updated admission information, oversee admissions processes, and offer alternative educational options tailored to students’ academic performance and skillsets. This approach aims to support their long-term academic and professional success while fostering a knowledge-based economy.
