Mohamed Hareb Al Otaiba Group Aims to Double Emirati Workforce by 2025 at Ru’ya Careers UAE 2024

Mohamed Hareb Al Otaiba Group (MHAO Group), the UAE’s oldest business conglomerate, has unveiled plans to double its Emirati workforce by 2025. The announcement was made during the opening of Ru’ya Careers UAE 2024, running from September 24-26 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

In 2024, MHAO Group doubled its Emirati workforce compared to 2023, reflecting the company's commitment to the UAE’s national agenda of fostering Emirati talent. The Group has also increased the representation of UAE nationals in its senior executive leadership team, which now includes six Emirati leaders. Women now hold 30% of leadership roles, further demonstrating MHAO’s dedication to diversity and inclusion.

“Our mission is to empower the people of the UAE,” said Mohamed Hareb Al Otaiba, Chairman of MHAO Group. “By doubling our Emirati workforce, we are investing in the future of both our company and the nation.”

MHAO Group has developed key strategic partnerships to support local talent development, including collaborations with KPMG and Mercer to define career progression and enhance talent assessment. The company has also launched a leadership development program in partnership with the American University of Cairo, offering comprehensive training for Emirati employees.

Additionally, MHAO offers structured training programs such as the Al Nukhba program, designed to develop participants from management trainee to junior specialist, and the Bidaya program, which focuses on leadership and management skills. The Group has also introduced an Al Nukhba development plan for People of Determination, emphasizing inclusivity and equal opportunities for all Emiratis.

Through these initiatives, MHAO Group continues to contribute to the UAE’s economic diversification goals and foster the next generation of Emirati leaders.
