Ministry of Culture Concludes Fifth Edition of Summer Camp with Over 427 Programs and Activities

The UAE Ministry of Culture successfully wrapped up the fifth edition of its annual Summer Camp on July 31, 2024. The month-long initiative, which commenced in early July, aimed to enhance community engagement, foster national identity, and strengthen cultural bonds, offering participants the tools to contribute to a brighter future in the UAE.

The closing event took place at the Umm Al Quwain Creative Cultural Centre, attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman of the Department of Finance of Umm Al Quwain, His Excellency Mubarak Al Nakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, and other prominent figures.

Attracting over 18,500 participants from diverse age groups, ranging from six to sixty and beyond, the Summer Camp featured an extensive array of 427 programs. These included 223 showcases of individual talents and 56 developmental activities designed to enhance participants' skills. The camp was supported by 165 trainers and volunteers who collaborated with 287 partner organizations to facilitate and oversee the programs.

His Excellency Mubarak Al Nakhi highlighted the camp’s objectives, stating, "This year's Summer Camp was an integrated knowledge platform aimed at the all-round development of participants. We focused on offering a comprehensive program enriched with our experiences from previous editions to provide participants with new sources of knowledge and a stronger value system."

He continued, "The Summer Camp is an invaluable platform for nurturing individual talents, raising awareness, and strengthening national identity. By connecting participants to their heritage and enhancing their scientific and cultural knowledge, we are preparing them to contribute positively to nation-building."

The Summer Camp 2024 was hosted across several cultural and creative centers throughout the Emirates, including the Fujairah Cultural and Creative Centre – Masafi and Al Hulaifat, the Ras Al Khaimah Cultural and Creative Centre - Al Nakheel, the Ajman Cultural and Creative Centre - Al Jurf, the Umm Al Quwain Cultural and Creative Centre - Al Salamah, and the Abu Dhabi Cultural and Creative Centre - Al Dhafra.
