MBRF participates in London Book Fair 2015 aiming to strengthen cooperation with global publishing houses
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation (MBRF) began its participation in London Book Fair 2015, being held in the British capital from April 14 to 16, as part of its efforts to strengthen bonds of cooperation with Arab and international publishing houses in the field of culture and knowledge.
On the first day of the fair, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, visited the MBRF pavilion, giving a big boost to MBRFs presence in the book fair.
The participation at the book fair will enable MBRF to promote further its Qindeel Printing and Publishing Services, one of the investment projects of the Foundation which aims to integrate the efforts of companies in the printing, publishing and translation sector. On the occasion, MBRF will discuss ways of cooperation with international and Arab publishing houses, providing details of the next operational phase of the Qindeel project.
MBRFs participation in the London Book Fair follows its successful global promotional campaign during the Frankfurt Book Fair last year. The event also offers an ideal platform for the Foundation to share best experiences in the fields of electronic publishing and copyright management.
His Excellency Jamal Bin Huwaireb, Managing Director of MBRF, said: Our first participation in London Book Fair comes within the MBRF strategy to promote cultural exchanges with various countries of the world, and share best practices in the production and transfer of knowledge in alignment with UAEs pursuit to build a knowledge based society.
Describing the London Book Fair as one of the most important cultural events in the world, H.E. Huwaireb said: This is an opportunity to engage in constructive communication with international publishing houses. We will discuss ways of cooperation and partnerships in publishing in specialised areas such as science, innovation, self-development, and children, which we see as critical to the development of Arab societies and to equip our young people with the necessary knowledge for sustainable development of our countries.
This is the 44th edition of the London Book Fair, which is the second largest book fair in the world after the Frankfurt Book Fair. The book fair, organised in the Olympia Exhibition Hall in central London, will have participation from more than 110 countries through 1500 pavilions, and will attract more than 13,000 visitors. Apart from the UAE, the exhibition has huge participation from a number of Arab countries such Egypt, Lebanon, Oman, Iraq and Lebanon.
