Little fashion stars walk the ramp for Sacoor Kids and BinHendi Enterprises at Kids Fashion Fest
A stunning showcase of talent staged by little stars of various ages and nationalities the Kids Fashion Fest is turning out to be a spectacular treat for all the shoppers at The Dubai Mall. Taking over the Fashion Catwalk on second day of the event on 14 August, the 20 modelling sensations walked the ramp for a number of highly popular kidswear labels including Sacoor Kids as well as Ermanno Scervino, Billionaire & Marimekko from BinHendi Enterprises.
Kids Fashion Fest is hosted as part of the on-going 18th edition of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), and organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), in collaboration with its key sponsors.
Sashaying their way on the stage while offering ample back-to-school style cues to all the attendees at Fashion Catwalk, the budding models flaunted the seasons most graceful back-to-school looks with sheer elegance.
While the Sacoor Kids collection put the spotlight on warm colours and a mix of sporty and cute fashion picks for girls, the line-up by Ermanno Scervino, Billionaire & Marimekko, encouraged parents to embrace mix-and-match tips and tricks to dress up their little fashionistas for any occasion.
Among the many attendees rooting for the talented cast of models on the catwalk were Indian expatriates Sumanth Kapoor and his family members. I have come to The Dubai Mall with my family to check out all the DSS sales and offers and we stopped at Fashion Catwalk to watch the Kids Fashion Fest shows. The event is definitely living up to its hype and we are so glad we could be a part of it, said Sumanth.
"The concept of the show is indeed beautiful; it gives these children confidence and helps instil in them the values of team work, discipline and commitment. Not only that, it gives them a platform to express themselves and get an insight into what goes behind-the-scenes in organising a fashion event of this calibre. My 4-year-old daughter is very keen on participating next year so we are already looking forward to the next edition of DSS,
And little Aaliya wasnt the only one making plans to showcase her fashion talents at the next edition of Kids Fashion Fest. 5-year-old Zaid and 7-year-old Osama Al Kalouti from Palestine, residents of Dubai, also expressed their interest in participating. Zaid said: "I truly loved the fashion show and I want to be with them on stage next year. All the kids appeared to be very happy while modelling; I'm sure its a super fun and exciting experience.
Kids Fashion Fest activities will continue daily at The Dubai Mall until 22 August with a number of creative and fun-filled workshops in store for children. At these workshops that are set up within the stores of a number of participating brands, children have the opportunity to learn a number of new culinary, designing and artistic skills including learning how to decorate cupcakes and biscuits to going home in style with their stylish tote bags, among others.
