‘KnowTalks’ launches new discussions in Jordan on AI, cybersecurity, and CSR
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has launched a new series of its ‘KnowTalks’ initiative in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Hosted at the Rainbow Theater in Amman, the sessions brought together experts and thought leaders to explore key issues shaping the future, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and strategy development.
The event reaffirmed MBRF’s commitment to addressing knowledge and development challenges and to advancing inclusive and sustainable growth.
The opening session, “The Human Firewall: Fighting Cybercrime with Awareness,” was delivered by Dr. Omran Salem, cybersecurity expert and lecturer at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan. He highlighted the critical role of technology in empowering people of determination while offering a comprehensive overview of cybersecurity risks, relevant regulations, and practical applications across sectors such as smart cities, e-learning, healthcare, and digital governance. Live demonstrations on hacking methods, including social engineering and DDoS attacks, engaged participants with real-world examples of vulnerabilities and protective strategies.
The second session, “CSR for Sustainable Communities,” led by Zahia Na’san, Director of the Airport International Group Foundation, focused on CSR initiatives in Jordan’s Al-Jizah region. She showcased training programs that have supported more than 600 graduates, including a significant rise in female participation from 43 percent in 2024 to 68 percent in 2025. The initiatives have enabled 64 percent of participants to secure jobs and 25 percent to launch small businesses, contributing to measurable improvements across 12 villages.
In “Staying Human in the Age of Intelligent Everything,” Dr. Yazan Hijazi, Chairman and Chief Innovation Officer at hea Global, reflected on the human dimension in the era of AI. He emphasized that the future depends not only on digital platforms but on self-awareness, creativity, and the preservation of human values.
The final session, “The Business Called Me,” presented by business consultant Musa Obeidat, examined the role of strategy in both corporate success and personal growth. Drawing comparisons between companies such as Apple, Nokia, and Kodak, he stressed the importance of clear vision, resource management, and learning from failure as part of the path to success.
KnowTalks continues to serve as a platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange, connecting experts with participants to inspire innovative and sustainable solutions to global challenges.
