INTO University Partnerships Hosts Thought Leadership Event on Higher Education's Role in Vision 2030
INTO University Partnerships, a global leader in education collaborations, recently hosted a Thought Leadership Event titled “Higher Education Support for Vision 2030” at the InterContinental Riyadh Hotel. The gathering brought together influential leaders and decision-makers from the international higher education sector to explore ways the Saudi and UK education systems can contribute to the Kingdom’s ambitious Vision 2030 goals.
The event highlighted the importance of collaboration between Saudi and UK universities, emphasizing joint efforts in expanding research capacity, fostering intellectual diversity, and adapting vocational education to meet the evolving demands of the global economy. Speakers from both nations addressed the role of education in supporting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and preparing students for future opportunities.
Key speakers included John Sykes, Co-Founder and CEO of INTO University Partnerships; Richard Davies, Pro Vice Chancellor for Global and Sustainability at Newcastle University; and Abraham AlThonayan, a member of the Advisory Board at King Khaled University. The discussions centered on how education systems can drive progress in sectors such as clean energy, tourism, and sports, with special attention on the role of AI and innovation.
The event also featured a panel discussion on the evolving needs of Saudi Arabia’s higher education sector, particularly in relation to human resource development and transnational education (TNE). The panelists underscored the importance of exchange programs and partnerships in ensuring Saudi universities rank among the world’s best.
As Saudi Arabia continues to strengthen its educational framework through international partnerships, initiatives such as this event play a vital role in aligning educational outcomes with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 roadmap.
