Huawei Cloud has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing artificial intelligence (AI) in Saudi Arabia at the LEAP 2025 Conference, emphasizing its role in supporting the Kingdom’s ambitious AI leadership goals. The Huawei Cloud Riyadh region, launched in September 2023, has rapidly evolved into a strategic AI hub for the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa, serving over 1,000 customers and 300 partners across government, finance, media, and e-commerce sectors.
As AI continues to reshape the global economy, Huawei Cloud Riyadh is playing a crucial role in developing localized AI solutions that align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. The company’s advanced infrastructure and AI-driven capabilities ensure compliance with data sovereignty regulations while enabling the Kingdom to accelerate its AI-driven transformation.
Since obtaining a Class C license from Saudi Arabia’s Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) in 2023, Huawei Cloud has strengthened its presence by entering the Saudi National Framework Agreement (NFA V2.0) in December 2024. This agreement allows Saudi government entities to directly procure Huawei Cloud services, facilitating seamless AI integration across various sectors.
Alan Qi, President of Huawei Cloud for the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa, highlighted the company’s commitment, stating, "Huawei Cloud is transforming how organizations harness AI, positioning the Riyadh region as a key hub for developing AI solutions tailored to Saudi Arabia’s needs. Our rapid growth, serving over 1,000 customers across critical industries, reflects our leadership in delivering cutting-edge AI capabilities that redefine this evolving market."
At LEAP 2025, Huawei Cloud showcased a range of AI-powered cloud innovations, including the latest Pangu 5.0 model, which is designed to cater to diverse industries. Featuring a 5+N+X architecture, Pangu 5.0 allows flexible adaptation to sector-specific requirements, enhancing efficiency and ensuring cost-effective scalability.
Visitors at the conference also explored Huawei’s DataArts solutions, which leverage AI-driven analytics and data management to optimize business operations. Huawei Cloud continues to advance AI and cloud computing convergence, reinforcing its position as a key player in Saudi Arabia’s AI ecosystem. By strengthening its presence in the Kingdom, Huawei Cloud is set to contribute significantly to AI adoption and long-term economic growth.
