Group-IB and UAE Cyber Security Council announce strategic partnership on predictive cyber defence

Group-IB and the UAE Cyber Security Council have announced a strategic partnership focused on strengthening the UAE’s cybersecurity capabilities through threat intelligence sharing, coordinated incident response and technical capacity building.

The partnership was announced during GISEC Global 2026 and is aimed at strengthening the UAE’s digital resilience as the country expands its digital transformation agenda.

The two organisations will also explore the establishment of a joint Innovation Center of Excellence in the UAE focused on cybersecurity innovation, knowledge exchange and capability development.

Focus on threat intelligence and incident response

Under the collaboration, Group-IB and the UAE Cyber Security Council will work on exchanging intelligence related to cyber risks, threat actors, malicious infrastructure, malware, attack techniques and indicators of compromise.

The organisations will also examine how information on adversary behaviour and infrastructure can help identify emerging threats earlier and support pre-emptive defence measures.

The partnership will include coordination on incident response, with the aim of strengthening readiness and enabling a faster response to cyber threats across the UAE’s digital ecosystem.

Cybersecurity training and capacity building

Capacity development will form another key part of the partnership.

The two sides plan to collaborate on specialised training programmes, technical workshops, educational materials and joint working groups for cybersecurity professionals in the UAE.

These initiatives are intended to strengthen practical cybersecurity capabilities and contribute to the development of national cyber talent.

Innovation centre planned

Group-IB and the UAE Cyber Security Council also intend to explore the creation of a joint Innovation Center of Excellence in the UAE.

The proposed centre would bring together Group-IB’s global cybersecurity expertise and regional threat intelligence with the Council’s national cybersecurity priorities.

It is expected to provide a platform for cybersecurity innovation, knowledge sharing and capability development. The organisations said the scope and activities of the centre will be defined as the partnership progresses.

Focus shifts towards proactive defence

H.E. Dr Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, said anticipating cyber risks before they materialise remains central to the UAE’s national cybersecurity vision.

Dmitry Volkov, CEO of Group-IB, said the partnership would focus on giving cybersecurity teams more time to act by using adversary intelligence, technology and AI to anticipate potential threats.

Ashraf Koheil, Vice President of Sales, META and ANZ at Group-IB, said the partnership would bring the company's global expertise and regional threat intelligence closer to the UAE’s cybersecurity priorities.

The organisations said the collaboration reflects a shared focus on proactive cyber defence, knowledge exchange and public-private cooperation.

They are expected to formalise the scope and priorities of the partnership in the coming months, including plans for the proposed Innovation Center of Excellence.
