Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation Announces Innovators 2024 Competition Results

The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences has revealed the results of the seventh edition of the Innovators 2024 competition. The competition, which saw participation from 137 students across UAE schools, recognized winners based on their creativity, social impact, quality of execution, and innovation efficiency after a rigorous evaluation process.

His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Ali Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, highlighted the achievements, stating:
“We are delighted to announce the results of the seventh cycle of the Innovators competition, which began in June last year. The exceptional performance demonstrated by participants underscores their advanced skills and innovative thinking, contributing to the competition's growth and success. Looking forward, we aim to expand the competition to inspire more students towards creativity and innovation, transforming their ideas into impactful projects supporting sustainable development and national capabilities in technology.”

Winning Projects

The Innovators 2024 competition awarded the following teams for their exceptional projects:

  • Abdullah Ahmed Al Hammadi and Fatima Rashid Awad for their project, Aboory.
  • Mohammed Adnan Mohammed and Ardzin Nathaniel Omaldi for their project, MindSync.
  • Nabeel Nadeem Al Qadi, Alaa Salah Abdulaziz, and Youssef Rasim Al Shaki for their project, Smart Modular Shading System.

Encouragement awards, including the "Sustainability Award" and the "Community Service Award", will be announced during Innovation Week in February 2025, where all winners will be honored in a grand ceremony.

Competition Highlights

The Innovators 2024 competition followed a structured evaluation process led by a panel of experienced judges:

  • Out of 137 participating teams, 45 met the competition criteria.
  • 20 teams advanced to the first evaluation phase, with nine reaching the final implementation stage.
  • Three winning teams were selected after the final evaluation.

 

The Role of Emirates Fab Lab

The Emirates Fab Lab, hosted by the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, plays a pivotal role in fostering innovation. As the first UAE lab to achieve membership in the global Fab Lab organization, it provides advanced tools, training courses, and facilities for digital manufacturing, aligning with the National Innovation Strategy.

Dr. Al Suwaidi concluded by reaffirming the Foundation's commitment to nurturing excellence and innovation:
