Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University and Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology sign MoU to empower national talent and enhance industrial competitiveness
Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) and the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop the skills of Emirati professionals and strengthen the UAE’s industrial competitiveness.
The agreement is designed to support the Ministry’s workforce through innovative lifelong learning programs powered by smart technology and flexible education models. It will also help improve investment attractiveness and prepare national talent to play a leading role in shaping the future of the country’s industrial sector.
The MoU enables Ministry employees to enroll in HBMSU’s bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs, along with specialized professional courses such as the Future Foresight Leadership Program, the Executive Program in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and the Women Leadership Development Program.
The agreement was signed at the Ministry’s headquarters in Dubai by H.E. Dr. Rashid Al Nuaimi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector at MoIAT, and Dr. Fahad Al Saadi, Vice Chancellor for Institutional Resources and Services at HBMSU, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.
Strengthening national capabilities
H.E. Dr. Rashid Al Nuaimi emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to enhancing industrial competitiveness through strategic initiatives such as “Make it in the Emirates”, the National In-Country Value Program, and the Technology Transformation in Industry Program. These initiatives aim to foster a business environment that attracts investments, encourages global partnerships, and strengthens the UAE’s position in international markets.
He noted: “The Ministry is dedicated to empowering national talent to lead the country’s industrial transformation. The MoU with Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University supports this goal by offering advanced professional programs aligned with the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology. We value the university’s role in providing innovative learning platforms that merge smart education with practical industrial applications.”
Driving sustainable learning and innovation
Dr. Fahad Al Saadi highlighted that the collaboration reflects both institutions’ commitment to building advanced national capabilities, particularly within the industrial sector, which remains a cornerstone of sustainable economic growth.
He stated: “At Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, we view smart learning as more than a traditional academic approach. It is a driving force that contributes to shaping a sustainable and innovative future. Through our expertise in smart education and research, we aim to empower national talent and support innovation in areas such as business, healthcare, sustainability, and the green economy.”
The signing ceremony was also attended by senior HBMSU representatives, including Mr. Ali Al Lanjawi, Director of Business Development, and Ms. Nadia Al Shaye, Head of Client Accounts.
HBMSU reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a comprehensive digital learning experience through its Smart Campus, leveraging cutting-edge interactive technologies to ensure efficiency and flexibility in education.
