GEMS Education brings fire safety message to children with Emirates Civil Defence Academy
GEMS Education in partnership with Emirates Civil Defence Academy conducted an interactive training session inculcating the importance of fire-safety among children. The programme was held at GEMS Metropole School.
The goal of this programme was to create a fire-safe Dubai by having each child become an ambassador for fire safety. The training was aimed to equip these children with the necessary skills and behaviours which they can use throughout their lives. The discussions were led by Emirates Civil Defence Academys instructors who are career firefighting professionals from all over the world.
Paul Slater, Vice President - Health, Safety and Environment, GEMS Education said, Understanding the risk of fire at an early age is hugely important. GEMS is committed to providing a safe environment within our schools. Furthermore, it is equally important, that we provide our students with knowledge and skills that can also be applied outside of school. With this initiative, we hope that it encourages our students to speak with their families on the important issue of fire safety. The training will provide our students with a greater understanding of what to do in the event of an emergency.
