Ford Partners with Football Fives World Championship for Second Consecutive Year

Following last years successful partnership with the inaugural Football Fives World Championship (F5WC) which brought this global amateur championships finals to Dubai, Ford is announcing its continued support for the 2015 edition of this unique football championship as title sponsor.

Over 100,000 amateur players representing 48 countries are competing globally in an exciting qualifying campaign, to bring their best amateur 5-a-side football teams to the finals, which will be held at SkyDive Dubai from April 23-25, 2015.

We are delighted to confirm Fords tie up with the Football Fives World Championship for the second consecutive year, said Paul Anderson, Marketing director for Ford Middle East & North Africa.

Ford continues to actively engage with the regions youth through a range of activations and sports associations, and our ongoing support of the Football Fives World Championship makes total sense, Anderson continued. Ford believes in the universal language of team sports, especially football, which helps to instill positive values among the youth.

James Davies Yandle, managing director of F5WC stated: Fords partnership and continued support is crucial to the success of the Football Fives World Championship, and we welcome it. We are giving the opportunity for amateur football players in 48 countries, to represent their country at the global Finals, which is any football players dream.

With Fords support of this global event and our commitment to offering the youth unique opportunities for exposure to talent scouts, we will attract a large number of players participating worldwide, more countries qualifying and an even bigger grand finale in Dubai. These are truly exciting times, Davies Yandle concluded.

In the inaugural F5WC Finals which took place in Dubai earlier this year in June, Denmark walked away with the World Championship title in a heated game that took place against Jordan. Uruguay came in third while Qatar came in fourth.

The Football Fives World Championship brings together a global initiative to select talented amateur football players through regional 5-aside qualifying rounds to then compete in the Dubai finals. The tournament aims for mass participation amongst amateur players who play for fun whilst bringing together countries to celebrate the beautiful game that has captured every youths passion.
