Fintastic Fun Awaits During Aquaventure World's Summer of Sharks Celebrating the UAE's Native Species

Aquaventure World is set to celebrate the UAE’s native shark species from Friday, 12th July to Monday, 12th August with its exciting “Summer of Sharks” event. The Lost Chambers Aquarium will transform into a haven for shark enthusiasts, featuring a variety of fun and educational experiences. This summer event also marks the introduction of two new marine programs: Ray Feeding and Freediving Explorer, offering guests unique opportunities to engage with marine life.

Aquaventure World’s “Summer of Sharks” aims to raise awareness about these fascinating species and inspire conservation efforts. For every marine animal experience a guest participates in, Atlantis Dubai will contribute $1 USD to local and international conservation and sustainability projects through the Atlantis Atlas Project. The list of grantees for the 2024-25 year will be announced later this summer.

Prices start from AED 480 for children and AED 530 for adults.

Sharks of the UAE

The UAE is home to a rich variety of sharks, including the Blacktip Reef Shark and the Whale Shark. These species play a crucial role in maintaining healthy ocean ecosystems. Despite common misconceptions, sharks are generally not dangerous to humans. Sadly, approximately 75 million sharks are killed each year, primarily for their fins. Protecting these vital marine animals is essential.

To support shark conservation, people can choose responsibly sourced seafood, avoid shark products, and support conservation organizations. For more information on the Atlantis Atlas Project and its initiatives, visit Atlantis Atlas Project.
