Etihad Museum Launches Research Grant Programme to Boost Cultural and Historical Studies
The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has unveiled the Etihad Museum Research Grant Programme, a new initiative aimed at supporting innovative research on Emirati history, culture, and national identity. This programme invites scholars, historians, creatives, and academics based in the UAE to submit proposals by December 20, 2024, for original studies that will contribute to enriching the nation’s historical narrative and strengthen the Etihad Museum’s role as a knowledge and research hub.
Under the Etihad Museum Cultural Season, the grant programme seeks to utilize the museum’s extensive archival collections, which detail events from 1968 to 1974 and celebrate the achievements of the UAE’s founding fathers. Muna Faisal Al Gurg, CEO of Dubai Culture's Museums and Heritage Sector, emphasized the museum's mission to advance academic research and transform Dubai’s museums into pivotal cultural platforms, highlighting this initiative’s alignment with Dubai Culture’s commitment to promoting Emirati heritage.
Selected proposals will be evaluated for their relevance to Emirati identity, originality, data collection rigor, and audience engagement potential. Approved projects will further Etihad Museum’s educational and cultural objectives, deepening the public’s understanding of UAE history.
