Emirati Human Resources Development Council and Keolis MHI Strengthen Workforce Training in Transport and Technology Sectors
The Emirates Human Resources Development Council (EHRDC) has reinforced its collaboration with Keolis MHI, the operator and maintainer of Dubai Metro and Dubai Tram, to deliver high-quality training programs for university and Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) students. This initiative aims to equip students with practical expertise and enhance their readiness for the evolving job market. The partnership aligns with EHRDC’s commitment to developing Emirati talent and enhancing their role in driving the UAE’s digital economy.
In 2024, Keolis MHI’s training initiative benefited 104 students, including 66 Emiratis, across various fields. The program provided specialized training to meet the growing demands of the digital economy and the smart transport sector. Key disciplines covered included electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, information technology, mechatronics, international relations, marketing and communications, project management, computer science, and network and systems administration.
His Excellency Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Deputy Chairman of EHRDC and Director-General of the Dubai Government Human Resources Department, emphasized the importance of forging strong partnerships with private sector companies to create new opportunities for Emirati professionals. He stated: “At EHRDC, we are committed to fostering a sustainable, knowledge-based economy driven by national expertise, technological innovation, and future industries.”
Abdulaziz Al Falahi, General Superintendent of Recruitment at EHRDC, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the Council’s dedication to providing Emirati students with skills essential for excelling in the competitive job market. He underscored the significance of practical training opportunities in key sectors such as transportation and technology, ensuring that young Emirati talents are well-equipped to drive economic growth and contribute to the UAE’s digital transformation.
H.E. Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi further noted that the partnership with Keolis MHI serves as a testament to EHRDC’s mission of empowering national talent through hands-on training and professional qualification courses. These training programs provide students with valuable opportunities to refine their technical and professional skills, preparing them for future career challenges and enabling them to contribute effectively to the country’s economic development.
David Franks, Managing Director of Keolis MHI, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to nurturing Emirati talent. Amal Abdullatif, Chief People Officer at Keolis MHI, highlighted the strategic role of rail transport’s next generation in shaping the future of smart mobility. She announced: “For our 2025 intake, we are pleased to offer 100 apprenticeship opportunities for Emirati students. With 14 students already enrolled, we encourage aspiring candidates to apply.”
