Emirates Health Services Streamlines Operations, Reduces Wait Times by 60%
Emirates Health Services (EHS) has made significant strides in improving service efficiency and customer experience through the UAE’s Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme. The initiative, aimed at simplifying government procedures, has led to the elimination of 220 procedures, reducing service wait times by 60%. These efforts are part of the UAE’s broader vision to enhance global competitiveness and government efficiency.
As part of the initiative, EHS has streamlined 60 key operations, resulting in the removal of over 9 million workflow steps and reducing 1 million visits to service centers. The changes have also led to a reduction of over 900,000 paper documents, saving customers more than 80 million minutes and EHS over 60 million dirhams in service costs.
H.E. Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al Serkal, Director General of EHS, noted that these measures align with the UAE's "We the UAE 2031" vision and support the country's Centennial Plan 2071. EHS's initiatives include simplified admission procedures for healthcare facilities, improved access to medications, enhanced telemedicine services, and expanded preventive healthcare programs.
The organization is also focusing on projects like accelerating medical fitness tests for visas, launching virtual clinics, and improving processes for issuing health cards for People of Determination. These efforts aim to enhance service accessibility and efficiency across the UAE.
EHS plans to continue evaluating its performance and implementing long-term strategies to ensure sustained improvement and maintain the UAE's global leadership in healthcare.
