Egypt’s Smouha Club Crowned Champions of Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Cup for Ladies 2026
Egypt’s Smouha Club has won the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Cup for Ladies 2026 after defeating the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Team 3-0 in the final held at the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy in Abu Dhabi.
The tournament was held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, known as the “Mother of the Nation.” It was also held under the directives of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, as well as Chairwoman of Abu Dhabi Ladies Club and Al Ain Ladies Club.
Smouha Club Takes First Place
H.E. Dr. Omniyat Al Hajri, Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, presented the awards to the top three teams.
Smouha Club of Egypt secured first place, while the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy team representing the UAE finished as runners-up. Egypt’s 6th of October Club claimed third place.
The awards ceremony was attended by Abdulla Al Wheibi, Executive Director of the Sports Development Sector at Abu Dhabi Sports Council; Awad Al Mansoori, UAE Volleyball Association Board Member; and Khalid Al Suwaidi, Representative of the Presidential Court.
Six Teams From Five Countries Participate
The 2026 tournament brought together six teams representing five countries, providing a regional platform for women’s volleyball competition.
The participating teams were:
- Smouha Club – Egypt
- 6th of October Club – Egypt
- Police Club – Syria
- Salwa Al Sabah – Kuwait
- Wadi Finan – Jordan
- Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Team – UAE
The participation of teams from across the region gave players the opportunity to compete against different opponents and gain experience in a high-level competitive environment.
Academy Highlights Commitment to Women’s Sport
Dr. Omniyat Al Hajri congratulated Smouha Club on winning the tournament and praised all participating teams for their performances throughout the competition.
She highlighted the value of bringing together teams from across the region, noting that the tournament provided female athletes with opportunities to compete at a high level and challenge themselves against different opponents.
The Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy continues to focus on creating competitive opportunities for women and supporting the development of women’s sport in the UAE.
