Dubai Land Department connects Emirati jobseekers with over 80 real estate companies
Dubai Land Department (DLD) has concluded the fourth edition of Real Estate Day for Emirati Employment, bringing together UAE nationals, university students and more than 80 real estate companies to expand career opportunities for Emirati talent.
Held on October 29 at Address Sky View in Dubai, the event provided jobseekers with opportunities to meet employers, learn about vacancies and entry requirements, and explore career paths across the real estate sector.
The initiative forms part of DLD’s efforts to increase Emirati participation in the industry and strengthen cooperation between government entities, educational institutions and private-sector employers.
The event was attended by Omar Hamad Bu Shehab, Director General of DLD; Abdulla Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Deputy Chairman of the Emirati Human Resources Development Council in Dubai; Ahmad Al Room Almheiri, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Dubai SME); and Jamal Bin Thaniah, Chairman of Emaar.
Organised in collaboration with the Emirati Human Resources Development Council in Dubai, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis) and main sponsor Emaar, the event aims to connect national talent with employment opportunities across property development, brokerage and real estate services.
Real estate diploma creates training opportunities
Educational institutions also participated in the event, highlighting programmes designed to prepare young Emiratis for careers in the sector.
The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) showcased its Real Estate Diploma, launched in collaboration with DLD. Since its introduction earlier in 2026, the programme has attracted interest across HCT campuses in Dubai, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah.
The diploma combines academic learning with workplace training, involving government entities and real estate companies in curriculum development, programme delivery and practical training supervision.
HCT aims to build on its partnerships with industry employers to expand apprenticeship opportunities for students and employment pathways for graduates. It is also working to develop training programmes aligned with the sector’s changing requirements.
The University of Dubai also participated, highlighting its efforts to strengthen links between academic institutions and employers and prepare students and graduates for careers in key economic sectors, including real estate.
DLD highlights opportunities for Emirati talent
DLD Director General Omar Hamad Bu Shehab said creating career opportunities for UAE nationals, particularly recent graduates, remained a priority.
“Guided by the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, we continue to expand career opportunities for UAE nationals,” Bu Shehab said.
He added that the initiative was designed to help Emiratis apply their knowledge, gain practical experience and develop the skills needed to progress into leadership roles across the real estate sector.
Bu Shehab said the event translated these priorities into practical opportunities through partnerships with government entities and private companies, strengthening the contribution of national talent to a key part of Dubai’s economy.
Abdulla Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi said the event provided a platform for closer cooperation between public- and private-sector organisations. He highlighted its role in connecting students and young jobseekers with employers and helping them explore career options.
Ghannam Butti Al Mazrouei, Secretary General of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council, also emphasised the importance of partnerships in connecting Emirati talent with labour market needs and supporting sustainable careers in priority economic sectors.
Programme generated more than 2,100 job opportunities
The latest edition builds on the results of DLD’s Real Estate Empowerment Programme, which provided more than 2,100 employment opportunities for UAE nationals between 2023 and 2026 in partnership with the private sector.
The programme supports the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the Dubai Real Estate Sector Strategy 2033 by expanding employment opportunities and strengthening the role of Emirati professionals in the industry.
DLD said it would continue coordinating with participating companies to follow up on the event’s outcomes and monitor the employment opportunities generated, helping UAE nationals transition into careers in real estate.
