Dubai Crown Prince announces to train one million people how to AI prompt at the final day of the world’s biggest AI prompt engineering competition

Dubai has announced a groundbreaking initiative to train one million people in AI prompt engineering over the next three years. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), unveiled the "One Million AI Prompters" initiative, marking the world's first large-scale program of its kind.

AI prompt engineering, a critical skill for harnessing the full potential of generative AI, involves crafting precise and effective instructions for AI systems. This skill is increasingly recognized as essential for future workplaces, enabling AI systems to generate creative content, solve complex challenges, and perform a variety of tasks.

The "One Million AI Prompters" initiative aims to build expertise and competencies in this emerging field. The program will offer extensive training courses, accredited certifications, and a variety of competitions to help individuals develop and showcase their skills. Participants will also have opportunities to network and collaborate with experts across the technology ecosystem.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan announced the initiative during the final day of the inaugural Global Prompt Engineering Championship, the world's largest competition dedicated to AI prompt engineering. The championship, which concluded after two days of intense contests, featured participants from 100 countries competing for prizes totaling more than USD 270,000 across three categories: Art, Literature, and Coding. The winners, Ajay Cyril and Aditya Nair from India and Megan Fowkes from Austria, emerged victorious from thousands of entrants.

The Global Prompt Engineering Championship also featured workshops hosted by tech giants such as Microsoft, Google, and IBM, in collaboration with the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, the event's strategic partner. Plans are already in place to expand the competition next year to include more categories.
