DGHR Organises Second Edition of Human Resources Forum for 2024

The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) recently organized the second edition of the Human Resources Forum, focusing on workforce upskilling and reskilling. The forum, hosted on Microsoft Teams, aimed to equip department managers, section heads, and human resources specialists in Dubai Government with the necessary skills to keep pace with rapid technological advancements, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI).

The forum was attended by His Excellency Abdulla Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director-General of DGHR, along with other senior officials. H.E. Al Falasi emphasized the importance of upskilling and reskilling the workforce to ensure sustainable growth and maintain competitiveness in the labor market. He noted that the initiative aligns with Dubai's ambitious vision to position its government as a global leader in leveraging AI across institutions.

Forum Highlights

The agenda included a presentation by H.E. Dr. Saeed Aldhaheri, Director of the Centre for Futures Studies at the University of Dubai, titled "Upskilling and Reskilling the Skills of the Workforce in the Era of Artificial Intelligence." Dr. Aldhaheri discussed global trends impacting workforce skills, including AI, automation, green economy, sustainability, and data-driven human resources.

Mariam Al Suwaidi, Senior Vice President of Shared Services at ADNOC Sour Gas, presented "ADNOC Academy: The Stages of Developing and Building Workforce Skills," highlighting ADNOC's innovative strategies in skill development and lifelong learning to maintain sustainable economic growth.

The forum also featured a discussion on "Skills Needed in the Future," covering areas such as technical and specialized skills, AI skills, basic digital skills, and the importance of a lifelong learning mentality.

This event underscores DGHR's commitment to empowering national cadres and driving Dubai's efforts toward becoming the smartest city in the world, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
