Bentley Systems Enhances Digital Cities Offers With Acquisition of Citilabs and Orbit Geospatial Technologies
Bentley Systems, the leading global provider of comprehensive software and digital dual-cloud services to improve the design, construction and operation of infrastructure, today announced the acquisition of GlobalMobility Simulation (Cube) and Analytics (Streetlytics) software provider Citilaps, provider of 3D and mobile mapping software, Orbit Geospatial Technologies (Orbital GT). The newly acquired technologies, in conjunction with Bentley's current design integration and the benefits of digital cities, enable the engineering-based mobility digital twins. Road movement digital twin cities, the digital environment (drone and vehicle mounted mobile mapping the Orbit GT the simplified 4-D survey included), and Digital Elements (Bentley's open roads engineering applications, including those from) Cube simulations to-to model and real-world performance confirm proposed and existing roadway capacity for assets. Streetlytics traffic data is increasingly available through Bentley's Cloud Services for measuring and validating mobility digital twins.
Robert Mankowski, Vice President of Digital Cities at Bentley Systems, said: Mobility is a top priority for urban digital twins, as most existing planning and simulation efforts disconnect from the engineering reality of infrastructure. As roadway design software leaders, we are first and foremost interested in running the engineered mobility digital twins. With these acquisitions, we have now become a market leader through reputable and versatile cube software led by traffic engineer Michael Clarke - with automated mobile mapping workflows for road reality modeling, we can now bring together traffic simulations. It was conceived and felt by Peter Bonne and his family in leading the team behind Orbitz. It will serve to design, test, and improve the resilience of their mobility infrastructure for communities and regions.
