Ajman University has achieved a significant milestone by securing the Gold Award for the Middle East region in the "Sustainability Education Action" category at the prestigious QS Reimagine Education Awards 2024. This recognition celebrates the university’s groundbreaking initiative, "Greening Communities: Mangrove Planting Project," which underscores its unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement.

A Transformative Impact on Sustainability

Launched in 2023, the mangrove planting project has achieved remarkable results, including the planting of over 2,000 mangrove trees and the active participation of more than 1,000 community members. By directly contributing to the UAE’s 100 Million Mangrove Trees by 2030 initiative, Ajman University has positioned itself as a leader in fostering sustainable development.

The project, spearheaded by the Office of Sustainability in collaboration with Al Zorah Development Private Company and Quest for Adventure, serves as an educational platform that engages students and local communities in hands-on conservation activities.

The QS Reimagine Education Awards celebrate excellence in educational innovation, sustainability, and employability. The 2024 edition saw over 1,200 submissions from around the globe, evaluated by a panel of more than 900 international experts.
