Airport Show 2025 to Spotlight Cutting-Edge Security Technologies Amid Growing Air Travel Demand
The 8th edition of Airport Security Middle East will take place from May 6 to 8 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), alongside the 24th edition of the Airport Show. The event, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, aims to explore emerging threat scenarios and highlight advanced airport security innovations.
As air travel in the Middle East continues to surge, security has become a top priority. The global airport security market is projected to reach USD 38.09 billion by 2032, driven by growing investments in AI, biometrics, passenger tracking, and video surveillance systems. The region is actively implementing new technologies to provide safer and more seamless passenger experiences.
Colonel Engineer Expert Marwan Mohammad Singel, Director of Dubai Civil Aviation Security Center at Dubai Police, emphasized the vital role of technology in modern aviation:
“Technology has become a supreme factor for airports to ensure security and safety of facilities, ease of travel, and seamless journeys. The Airport Show will offer a closer look at the latest technologies shaping the future of airport security.”
With over 120 exhibitors from more than 20 countries, including national pavilions from Germany and Italy, and 150+ buyers from 30+ nations, the show serves as a major B2B platform for industry stakeholders across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.
According to Airports Council International (ACI), global airport investment is expected to hit USD 2.4 trillion by 2040, with the Middle East and Africa alone accounting for USD 75.5 billion. AI-powered systems are being adopted to enhance proactive monitoring, reduce false alarms, detect concealed weapons, and apply behavioral analytics to real-time camera feeds.
Dubai, which welcomed 92.3 million passengers in 2024, continues to lead globally in international traffic, maintaining its position as the world’s busiest hub. The city’s two international airports play a crucial role in handling this volume efficiently and securely.
May Ismail, Event Manager at RX, the global organizer of the Airport Show, commented:
“As airport security systems must continuously evolve to meet emerging threats, this year’s event will showcase an entire spectrum of new-age security solutions, including AI applications, automated screening systems, and risk-based approaches.”
The rising passenger traffic, forecasted to reach 530 million in the Middle East by 2043, reflects a pressing need for technological evolution in airport infrastructure. According to IATA, the region will welcome an additional 237 million passengers annually by 2034, pushing airports to adopt contactless, efficient, and intelligent security protocols.
The Airport Show will provide unparalleled knowledge-sharing opportunities, with a focus on real-world applications of new technologies, improved screening processes, and the future of intelligent airport infrastructure.
