ACCA welcomes new generation of finance leaders in Dubai

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) officially welcomed its newest members at a special ceremony in Dubai, celebrating their achievements and positioning them as the next generation of finance leaders.

Opening the event, Kush Ahuja, Head of Eurasia and Middle East at ACCA, said the ceremony marked more than academic success. “This is about welcoming talented, ethical professionals into a global network that is shaping the future of finance,” he noted.

Ayla Majid FCCA, President of ACCA, addressed attendees via video, emphasizing that membership unlocks a world of career opportunities. She highlighted that employers value ACCA professionals as symbols of expertise, excellence, and ethical commitment.

Delivering the keynote, Robert Van Der Klauw, Regional CFO at Munich Re and ACCA member since 2011, encouraged new members to embrace leadership with integrity. “The letters after your name may open doors, but it’s the person behind them who makes the difference. Be bold, be ethical, be visionary,” he said.

Prerna Sharma, Member Engagement Lead, Eurasia and Middle East at ACCA, praised the cohort, describing them as the embodiment of a stronger, more dynamic, and influential future for the profession.

The event also highlighted personal journeys of new members. Rashed Alali from EY Dubai reflected on the resilience required to succeed, while Sanjana Sridharr of Siemens Energy LLC, UAE, acknowledged the support system that helped her achieve her goals. Both emphasized how ACCA equipped them with technical knowledge, global perspective, and ethical foundations.

With industry leaders, members, and ACCA representatives in attendance, the ceremony reinforced ACCA’s role in developing future-ready professionals across the Middle East.
