Why you should visit the Jabal Jais during the winters!

As majestic as ever, with its head held upright into the sky, the mountain ranges of Ras Al Khaimah offer a breathtaking scenery worth a visit. The aesthetically satisfying beauty of it is only one among the many reasons why you should have been heading to the place long before, even before you were reading this.

Nevertheless, you need not regret. The nature has beauty in abundance rather than limited DSF offers in the mall. We are talking about the mountains, and here there are no expiry dates to the undeniably tempting offers that nature puts before us! Jabal Jais is even more enthralling during the winters. Although the place is known by the name Jabal Jais, it is, in fact, the highest peak of the spectacular mountain range called the Ruus Al Jibal.

History says that these mountains were formed more than 70 million years ago (wow!). Jabal Jais, standing at 1,934m is not only the highest peak in Ras Al Khaimah but in the entire UAE. The UAE, putting its awesome foot forward, has turned the place to wonderful tourist destination but without hurting the natural elements of the place even by a pinch. These mountains are home to an abundance of wadis (valleys) and hiking and mountain bike trails.

Among the numerous activities offered is Via Ferrata, for those who are contented only with a rush of adrenaline. The Viewing Deck Park offers you with an astounding chance to view the jaw-dropping vistas of the Arabian Gulf and Al Hajar Mountain valleys all from 1,250 meters above sea level. There is also a Skating Rink (yes, there is always room for more) set atop 1,300 meters above sea level. The high altitude of the place is one big reason why it gets more interesting with the commencement of winter season. As the winters set in, the temperature atop drops to unusual levels.

During the summers it is an escapade for people from the tiring heat of the city. In winters it is about finding reasons to freeze! Many people come to the place to spend an unforgettable night under the star-studded sky that is a dream youd see with your eyes wide open! Also, after the rains of winter, the mountains of Ras Al Khaimah are lined with contrast colours of purple lilies, wild irises and white daisies.

These mountain rages also boast of diverse bird life. The reopening of the worlds longest Zipline, Jabal Jais Flight, after its closure, is another attraction that has come back in place with complete safety assured. Now ruminate on why you didnt head to this must-go destination yet. And if you have already been to this place, know that you have more reasons to visit Jabal Jais again and again!
