Whats new with Dubai Expo 2020 this week?

With the month of February unfolding, new developments seem to pop out with regard to the much awaited Dubai Expo 2020.

Solar-driven hydrogen electrolysis facility unveiled at Dubai’s Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park

The new month saw the introduction of a ground-breaking facility, a first-of-its-kind in the region which will showcase the immense potential of green hydrogen as a carbon-free energy source, further pressing on the country’s efforts towards a more sustainable future.

The solar-driven hydrogen electrolysis facility has been created through a collaboration between Expo 2020 Dubai, DEWA and Siemens.

During Expo 2020, green hydrogen generated by the facility will power fuel-cell vehicles to travel the 50 kilometre distance between the Expo 2020 site and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, thereby demonstrating one of the many possible uses of clean energy sources.

Belarus Pavilion gets all-clad in the greens

Belarus, a country that boasts of lush forests and rich natural resources, is set to showcase the unimaginable blend of nature and innovation, through the Belarus Pavilion’s ‘Forest of Future Technology’.

As per reports, Belarus will use its pavilion to recreate the look, feel and smell of its primeval forests in the UAE. With illuminated green shoots sprouting at its main entrance, the structure has been designed to resemble a self-sufficient living organism.

Belarus is the latest country to reveal the design and theme of its pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. More are due to follow in the coming months.

Walk the Smart-talk at the Ukraine Pavilion

The Ukraine Pavilion at the Dubai Expo 2020 will feature a 3-zoned structure each highlighting Smart Life, Smart Thinking and Smart Feeling respectively, in its efforts to investigate solutions to humanity’s problems through collaboration, creativity and common sense.

Further, the pavilion will seek to explore the cultural heritage and innovative spirit of the country. The exhibits will showcase the nation’s thriving technology sector – with inventions such as an e-bike that can travel 380km on a single charge, a 3D printer for ceramics and solar blinds that generate energy.

It is being presented under the theme ‘Smart Ukraine: Connecting Dots’. The pavilion is also said to be creating enough room for its flora creating a restful ambience.
