Sharjah Extends Free Public Parking Amid Unstable Weather Conditions
Authorities in Sharjah have announced the extension of free public parking across the emirate until further notice, as unstable weather conditions continue to impact the region.
The decision follows an initial exemption introduced on March 23, with officials confirming that the waiver applies to all public parking areas, including zones that are typically chargeable and marked by blue signage. However, smart parking facilities remain excluded from the exemption.
Sharjah City Municipality said the move is aimed at ensuring public convenience and safety during the ongoing period of adverse weather.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology, the UAE is expected to experience a week of unstable weather, with rainfall forecast across various regions from Sunday through Friday. The rain is anticipated to move across northern, eastern, southern, coastal, and inland areas, with varying intensity.
Authorities have reiterated that public safety remains a top priority, noting that further updates will be issued as weather conditions evolve. Motorists have been advised to exercise caution, particularly in areas with reduced visibility and water accumulation on roads.
