Abu Dhabi Introduces Video Consultation Service for Lawyers and Clients

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) has introduced a new digital service allowing lawyers and their clients to conduct legal consultations through authorised video-calling applications.

The new service is designed to simplify communication between lawyers and clients by allowing consultations to take place remotely, eliminating the need for either party to travel for in-person meetings.

Digital legal consultations made easier

The service provides multiple channels through which clients can request video consultations with lawyers. Users can submit and track their applications digitally, helping streamline the consultation process and reduce the need for physical attendance.

According to ADJD, the initiative is part of Abu Dhabi’s broader efforts to develop an advanced justice and litigation system through digital solutions.

The availability of multiple channels is intended to make the service accessible to clients with different digital preferences and requirements.

The new video consultation service forms part of ADJD’s wider adoption of technology to improve the speed, accessibility and efficiency of judicial and legal services in the emirate.

The department is also moving towards more advanced applications of artificial intelligence in the justice sector. An AI Judicial Platform project, described as the world’s first integrated system of its kind, is scheduled to begin implementation over an 18-month period from September 2026.

The planned AI platform will provide a suite of smart solutions designed to modernise judicial operations, streamline procedures and enhance the delivery of justice-related services.

The latest video consultation service further strengthens Abu Dhabi’s digital justice infrastructure by allowing lawyers and clients to communicate remotely while reducing administrative and logistical barriers to legal consultations.
