Public and private schools across the UAE that follow the Ministry of Education curriculum are preparing to welcome teaching, technical, and administrative staff next Monday, marking their official return after the summer break and signaling the start of the 2025–2026 academic year.

Students in all grades will resume classes on Monday, August 25. The education sector is awaiting updated figures from the Ministry of Education on the total number of teachers for the new year, including newly appointed staff.

Ahead of the start of classes, teachers and school staff will participate in a professional development programme rolled out in two phases. The first will take place from August 18 to 22, while the second is scheduled from October 13 to 15. The programme aims to provide educators with the skills and tools needed for a smooth and successful academic start.

According to the academic calendar, the school year will include a total of 178 instructional days: 67 days in the first term, 47 in the second, and 64 in the third. The first term will commence on August 25 and extend over 14 weeks.

The return of teachers and staff marks an important step in ensuring that schools are ready to welcome students and deliver an enriching learning experience throughout the year.
