UAE National winner of ENOCs DSS 2014 Live for Free campaign to use cash prize for his higher education
Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) has made a positive impact on the life of an Emirati teaching assistant at a major UAE university. Ayman Rashed Al Khanbouli, the 37-year-old father of three children, has won the grand prize in ENOCs Shop and Live for Free campaign organised as part of Dubai Summer Surprises 2014.
Education is a top priority for Ayman and he was finalising plans to pursue a PhD in Innovation Strategic Management from the University of Hull in UK. The challenge was finalising funds. Little did he know that buying from ZOOM at an ENOC service station on Al Khail Road will be his ticket to make his dream come true.
I cant even remember what I bought from the ZOOM store. All I know is that I got two tickets, filled them up and dropped them in the box, said Ayman. Then I got a phone call on September 8 which I assumed was a prank.
He thought we were kidding, said Burhan Al Hashemi, Managing Director of ENOC Retail. When he realised we were serious, he was simply overwhelmed.
As the grand prize winner of the campaign, Ayman won the cash value of a one-time housing allowance of AED 100,000; one-time school fees allowance of AED 40,000; one-time car allowance worth AED 19,200; onetime groceries allowance from ZOOM worth AED 26,000; and one-time telecoms services allowance from etisalat worth AED 6,000.
ENOC Retail regularly conducts major promotions that feature prizes of great value, said Mr. Al Hashemi. The reward for us is seeing that the prize helps to fulfill the aspirations of the winners. We have had winners who were able to build homes or establish businesses. This time it goes to education which is very important in improving the life of Ayman, his family and in a larger sense improving the quality of the UAE citizens as well.
Al Hashemi and Taleb Al Saleh, Director of Retail Operations & Marketing at ENOC Retail presented the prize to Ayman, who was accompanied by his children Misk, 5 years old and Rashed, 3. This is a big surprise for me and my family, Ayman said. You have made all of us very happy.
In addition to the grand prize, ENOC Retail also presented five lucky winners with grocery shopping vouchers valued at AED 500 every week. To take part in the campaign, customers only had to spend AED 20 at ZOOM stores that are part of the ENOC/EPPCO network and the Dubai Metro, on products excluding phone, Salik and parking cards. They were also eligible for the draw when they spent AED 30 on car wash services, AED 100 for an oil change or for any AutoPro product and service.
ENOC is a strategic partner of the Dubai Festivals & Retail Establishment and supports all key initiatives including Dubai Summer Surprises with innovative campaigns that add value to the customers and positively influence their lives.
