SLC to Organise an Introductory Meeting Entitled Legislative Audit, a Governmental Objective
The General Secretariat of the Supreme Legislation Committee in Dubai (SLC) will certainly arrange, on December 26, 2017, an introductory conference qualified 'Legislative Audit, a Government Goal'. The conference belongs to the SLC's efforts to ensure correct execution of legislation by the Federal government entities in Dubai for establishing a robust legislative system efficient in sustaining the development of a government defined by excellence, openness, and reliability. Representatives from 15 local Government entities are expected to attend the meeting to discuss the end results of legislative audit for 2017, and its influence on federal government entities performance and on the application of legislation.
H.E. Ahmad Saeed Bin Meshar Al Muhairi, SLC Secretary General, reaffirmed the relevance of increasing awareness of legal audit, being key to making sure proper application of legislation by government entities in the emirate, and supporting the Pioneering and Excellent Government purpose of the Dubai Strategy 2021. Al Muhairi stated the goal of the meeting is to provide a critical platform for effective communication amongst local government entities, and exploring new methods to achieve optimal application of legislation, with the supreme goal of structure efficient and Pioneering and Excellent Government government system.
H.E. Bin Meshar included: "We have a responsibility to strengthen the legal audit of government entities to guarantee that their resolutions are in line with the legislation effective in the Emirate, to achieve our tactical purposes of establishing the legislative process in such a method regarding ensure issuance of sound legislation that welcomes the present and expects the future. We waiting to exposing the results of legislative audit for the year 2017, and we will certainly continuously very closely collaborate with federal government entities to ensure reasonable and trustworthy execution of all public law and regulations."
The agenda of the meeting will certainly include exposing the names of government entities to be subject to legal audit for the year 2018, and reviewing numerous subjects including testimonial of current legislation and its effect on government entities' vision; the duty of openness in boosting customer self-confidence; and the significance of following up application of legislation. The meeting will also display the experience of three government entities with legal audit. Each entity will provide the end results of their corresponding legal audit and its influence on their efficiency. The entities are the Department of Economic Advancement (DED), the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
