Skywell UAE Partners with National Taxi to Advance Sustainable Transport in Dubai

Skywell, a global leader in new energy vehicles, has announced a strategic partnership with National Taxi, an operator for Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), to accelerate the adoption of sustainable transport solutions. This collaboration underscores the UAE’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and achieving net-zero targets in line with the Climate Neutrality Initiative 2050 and the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030.

The partnership aims to integrate Skywell’s electric vehicles (EVs) into National Taxi’s fleet, paving the way for greener transportation solutions. This initiative aligns with RTA’s strategic goal to achieve zero emissions across the taxi and limousine sectors by 2040. Dubai currently boasts 380 green charging stations for EVs, with plans to expand to 1,000 by 2025 to support the growing shift towards electric mobility.

Driving Green Mobility

Chena Reddy, Group Managing Director at Legend Holding Group, highlighted the significance of this partnership, stating, “Skywell’s electric vehicles are equipped with the latest energy-efficient technologies, enabling a smooth transition to cleaner transportation while significantly reducing carbon emissions.”

Similarly, Toufic Mitri, CEO of National Taxi Company, emphasized the environmental benefits, noting, “By adopting electric vehicles, we are not only enhancing the efficiency of our services but also contributing to the UAE’s broader sustainability goals. This collaboration reflects our commitment to modern and eco-friendly mobility solutions in line with RTA’s directives.”

Scaling EV Infrastructure

The expansion of EV charging infrastructure is a crucial component of Dubai’s sustainable transport vision. The current 380 charging stations across the city will grow to 1,000 by 2025, supporting the integration of EVs into various sectors, including public and private transportation.

Impact and Future Goals

Through this partnership, National Taxi aims to enhance operational efficiency while aligning with the UAE’s Green Agenda 2030, which seeks to increase the share of electric taxis to 100% by 2040. The inclusion of Skywell’s advanced EVs not only reduces transport-related emissions but also promotes cleaner urban mobility, contributing to a healthier and more sustainable environment for future generations.

The collaboration between Skywell UAE and National Taxi represents a significant step forward in the UAE’s journey toward decarbonization and sustainable development, reinforcing its position as a global leader in green initiatives.
